Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am the Fine Arts (Music and Art) teacher at Hunt Elementary.  Your child will attend Music and Art once a week, alternating weeks for each class.

In the first weeks of school, I will send home a code that you can use to sign up for my Class Dojo classroom.  This is a free website and app where you can see what we are doing in class, follow your child's progress in Fine Arts, and communicate with me.  I like to use my Class Dojo classroom to send parents pictures of their child's work, to communicate about performances and art exhibits/ contests, and to be available for any questions or concerns parents may have.  You can always email me your email address or cell phone number, and I can sign you up for Class Dojo that way as well.

In Music class, we will journey through the Quaver curriculum, learning about music history, theory, composers, composition, genres, musical instruments, and many more topics.

 In Art class, we will begin our journey by creating a piece of art for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art Program and travel through the year learning about the elements of art, artists, genres, different art media, and many more topics.

Through Fine Arts class, we will learn how music and art can impact our understanding of the world around us, and  how music and art can enrich our lives in many ways.
