Cuero Junior High 8th grade honors students participated in the VFW's Patriot Pen Essay Contest. Three of our 8th graders placed in the contest with their essays.
Maria Gonzales was awarded 3rd place
Deana Leinen was awarded 2nd place
and Emery Smart was awarded 1st place.
Emery's essay was sent from the local competition to the district competition where she was awarded 1st place as well! Her essay has been sent to the state competition to compete now!
