I am currently in my 13th year of teaching.  I have worked in three other districts and gained knowledge from all my experience.  I completed my Master's degree in Special Education, Low Incidence Disabilities from Texas A&M University in May 2011 and moved to the Crossroads area. 

Previously, I have taught in Life Skills with students with severe and profound disabilities and enjoyed it immensely.  This position gave me the opportunity to work with a wide range of special needs, including autism spectrum disorders, severe intelletual and physical disabilities, speech, orthopedic, and vision impairments, other health impairments such as siezure disorders and unidentified developmental disorders. I continue to strive to be a positive impact in their lives. 

Personally, I am a lifelong learner who is patient, enthusiastic, and determined when it comes to providing services to students.  I have a passion for working with and advocating for people with special needs.  As I have been involved since second grade volunteering in the special education classroom, I have a history of being interested in working with individuals with severe disabilities.  I am confident that I will be an effective service provider for individuals with disabilities across all age ranges because of the intense instruction I received in my Master's program and my experiences with individuals with disabilities inside and outside the classroom.

I am convinced that I will be a great fit for Cuero ISD, as I am familiar with teaming with other service providers and diverse families for the benefit of students.  As a result of my experiences and understanding of disabilities, I am a dedicated worker who makes strong efforts to help individuals with disabilities succeed.  I hold the belief that all students can learn and strive to unlock their potential by providing quality intervention services.
