Dear Families,                                         

Welcome to Second grade! My name is Melissa Pakebusch, and I will be your child’s second grade teacher.  I have taught for twenty-four years. My husband Michael and I have two children.  We enjoy attending various sports activities and spending time in Rockport.  I am excited about starting a new year. 

My goal as a teacher is to create a learning environment that enables all children to learn. I am looking forward to a fun and successful school year. 

Below are some helpful hints to inform you about some of our class routines:

• Students will bring their Home Binder home daily.  Please look through this daily.
• Any graded work below 70 needs to be signed and returned the following day.
• Be sure to check over and initial your child’s daily Behavior Chart. 
• Please encourage your child to read their AR book every night with you. Reading will help promote fluency, build vocabulary, and most importantly, develop the love of reading. 
• Help your child practice spelling, vocabulary, sight words, and math facts each week.
