Dear Gobbler Family,

Thank you again for being patient with us as we gather information and make decisions.

Updates and clarifications:

*We are currently on Spring break. No students are at school. If they are there it is of their own choice. Using the track, playing ball with friends, etc. Schools are not open.
*Today is a big day in the decisionmaking process, we are going to get a lot of information on school closures and current emergency management procedures.
*I will be in meetings with state, regional, and local decisionmakers most of the day.
*We will explore the logistics of educating, feeding, and providing services for students and staff for the next several months.
*Friday is still the day we will release information/ plans regarding the next steps.

Once again thank you for your patience, we get new information hourly and I will try to answer questions as quickly as possible.

Covid-19 Info

COVID-19 Update: March 17, 2020

March 17, 2020

Dear Gobbler Family,

Please be patient, we will make an announcement on Friday, March 20. As of TODAY most of the schools in our region will be open on Monday, that does not mean we will/won't or this will not change. We are all (ISDs) getting daily updates from TEA, DSHS, CDC, and TDA. This will not be a short closure if and/or when it does happen. Again please be patient as we process all the information and how to best serve our children if they are on campus or off.

The DAEP at Nixon-Smiley will be closed next week. Cuero ISD students that attend the DAEP in Nixon-Smiley do not need to attend next week. DAEP classes will resume on Monday, March 23, 2020.

COVID-19 Update: March 12, 2020

Cuero ISD is aware that there is a HOAX going around that Cuero has received its first case of COVID-19 AKA Coronavirus. We have confirmed with local medical outlets that this is FALSE.  As of 3/12/2020, we have not had any confirmed cases but are closely monitoring the situation.

CISD is taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our children and staff, including but not limited to extra sanitization efforts, reinforcing hygiene protocols for students and staff, and adding extra sanitization stations throughout the district.  If and when CISD needs to take further action we will alert the public via every possible communication outlet. Please be precautious and take care. For further information and updates please go to  https://www.cueroisd.org/Content2/1054
