This tour is designed to help you become a more efficient user of the Internet. You should expect to repeat these processes in this class throughout the year. So, make sure YOU know what you are doing. So, let's go through an example question together.

As you move from page to page, you'll collect answers in the form of text, graphics, and URLs. Then you will paste them into a Word document. When finished, you'll print the document and turn it in for a grade. Happy touring!

You are currently on the Touring the Internet web page, so add it to your favorites, in case you lose it during the tour. Open Microsoft Word and a blank document. Save the document as tour.doc in a new folder on your Desktop called Tour. In the Word document, change all your margins to one inch, your font to Arial and your font size to 14. At the left margin type the following information and make it bold:
Name
Period
Date
Touring the Internet Assignment

As you go through the questions below, your first step will always be to copy and paste the question from the browser window into your Word document. Give the question the number you see below. Make the number and questions bold and your answers not bold. Hunt for the answers on the Internet, then go back to tour.doc and paste or type in the answer as directed. Skip a blank line between answers.

Important! Summarize your answers briefly and do not copy and paste an answer unless specifically told to do so.

During this tour you'll need to constantly move between your browser and Word. You will be expected to toggle, not minimize/maximize during this assignment.
