Mission Statement:

Cuero High School serves approximately 750 students in grades nine, ten, eleven and twelve. The majority of the students travel to Cuero High School by car or by bus from within the city of Cuero or from the surrounding communities of Westhoff, Meyersville, and Nursery. The student population represents families from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds with an ethnic makeup of 55% Anglo, 31% Hispanic, and 14% Black. Meeting the needs of a diverse population and a changing future presents a special challenge to the faculty and staff of Cuero High School.

The faculty and staff are committed to the belief that all our students can learn. Also, that our students need to develop essential academic skills and to acquire a knowledge base on which to build lifelong learning. All students will be provided an opportunity to take or be taught a curriculum of English/Language Arts, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, health, physical education, business and vocational. "All students will acquire a knowledge of Citizenship, and economic responsiblities and an appreciation of our common American heritage including its multi-cultural richness. To the full extent of their individual abilities, students will be provided the opportunity to develop the ability to think logically, independently, and creativity and to communicate effectively."

"Educating our children to be productive in a changing future necessitates an excellent educational system. A system that can accomplish this mission must be characterized by quality, equity, and accountability. Instruction must be provided at the highest levels of quality. Educational opportunities and resources must be distributed with equity for all students. The educational system must maintain accountability for demonstrated results and continuous improvement. Such a system will have the vitality to prepare our children for the changes and the challenges of the future, a future which will belong to the educated."
