New Career & Tech Offerings for Next Year!

Parents and students are invited to a presentation in the high school library with Victoria College representatives on Monday January 26 at 6:00 pm. You'll learn about programs we are considering for next year. If your high school student is interested in classes and careers in process technology, electronics and instrumentation, and industrial welding, please join us for this information session. Students who are highly interested will be invited for a school-sponsored tour of the Victoria College facilities for these programs.  Contact the counselor’s office to RSVP for this event! 361-275-1900 ext. 2

Audrey Simpson will be signing a scholarship to play softball and continue her education with Murray State University on Monday, January 26th.  It will be held in the Board Room at 3:45 pm.  Congratulations Audrey!

Agriculture Achievement Award

Congratulations goes out to Mr. Greg Nemec for receiving the Cuero Chamber of Commerce Agriculture and Visitor's Center Agriculture Achievement Award.  This award was presented to Mr. Nemec at the annual membership social and awards presentation on January 15th, 2015.

Citizen of Tomorrow Award

Congratulations to Cuero ISD Senior Chant Parker for receiving the prestigious award "Citizen of Tomorrow".  This recognition was given by the Cuero Chamber of Commerce Agriculture and Visitor's Center at their recent membership social and awards presentationChant is congratulated by Cuero ISD Superintendent, Mr. Jim Haley.


Mary Kate Krueger, a CHS Junior, turned in a great offensive and defensive effort in helping the Lady Gobblers Basketball Team beat the Yoakum Lady Bulldogs.  Mary Kate exhibits a spirit and competitiveness that is contagious and is one of the many heartbeats to the success of her team.  Great job Mary Kate!!!

Cheer Tryouts



On January 29th, CHS will host an informational meeting for students interested in trying out for cheerleader or mascot. Interested parents and students must attend this important meeting. It will be held in the CHS library beginning at 6:30 pm.  This is for any eligible current 9th through 11th grader at Cuero High School, as well as any eligible 8th grader at Cuero Junior High, Meyersville, and Westhoff schools.  For questions or more information, please contact Deborah Pedraza at or 361-275-1900.

Cuero Gobbler of the Week

Congratulations Cuero Gobbler of the week, Senior Chelsea Veit !  Chelsea is currently ranked number 2 in the Senior Class.  Upon graduation, she will have 19 college credit hours, Awesome !  Chelsea is a member of the Lady Gobbler Varsity Basketball, Golf, and Softball teams.  She is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, President of the National Honor Society, and Student Body Vice-President.  In the Fall, Chelsea will be attending Texas A&M University in College Station and will be majoring in Accounting.  Congratulations again to our Gobbler of the Week, Chelsea Veit.

Cuero Junior-Senior Prom 2015

Prom tickets are now on sale for Juniors, $35 per ticket. Please see Mr. Greg Nemec, Mrs. Schaefer Taylor, or Ms. Paige Baros to purchase a ticket. Ticket prices will increase in February and March.

Athlete of The Week

Congratulations to Mariah Ann Rodriguez for being the sole Lady Gobbler student to earn the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) 2014-2015 Volleyball Academic All-State Award 1st Team! As a senior athlete, Mariah, was nominated on behalf of CHS for being of good moral character, in good standing with the team, and having an overall GPA of 98.27. She has been accepted to Texas A&M University's Dwight College of Engineering. Mariah exemplifies the Lady Gobbler Spirit!


Lady Gobbler All-District Award Recipients

Congratulations to the Lady Gobblers who were recently awarded Region 4 District 26 All-District Honors for girls volleyball!  These ladies exemplify the true Gobbler Spirit!

2014-15 Plastic Film Recycling Challenge at CIS

Attached is the flyer for the competition in which CIS has been invited to participate.  The City of Cuero is partnering by picking up, storing, and shipping the plastic bags and film collected during the competition.  We will be competing and reporting until April 2015.
