Students Compete in

Technology Olympics

Congratulations to CIS student Asa Padilla and CJHS student Andrew Young who participated in the Technology Olympics on January 23, 2015 at Region III.

Technology Olympics is a competition that showcases Visually Impaired Students talents in Braille Writing, Magnifying Skills, iPad skills and Orientation & Mobility.

Asa placed 1st in Braille Writing and in Video Magnification.

Andrew placed 1st in iPad non-academic and 2nd in iPad sequencing.

Football Coaches 4A Div II All-State Football Team:

Congratulations to D’Anthony Hopkins and Jacob Perez!!!  Both were selected to the 1st Team Padilla Poll Coaches 4A Div II All-State Football Team.  D’Anthony was selected as a running back, and Jacob was selected as an offensive lineman.  Congratulations to both young men on an outstanding season!


Abraham Ramirez, a CHS Junior,  is an outstanding asset to the Cuero Powerlifting Team.  He placed 2nd in his weight class at Yoakum with a total of 1165 lbs.  Abraham then placed 1st in his weight class at Schulenburg with a total of 1210 lbs.  He is currently ranked 3rd in the Region.  Way to go Abraham!

Audrey Simpson will be signing a scholarship to play softball and continue her education with Murray State University on Monday, January 26th.  It will be held in the Board Room at 3:45 pm.  Congratulations Audrey!

Gobbler of the Week


Congratulations to the Cuero Gobbler of the Week, Junior Cody Bishop !

Cody is a Member of the CHS National Honor Society, 4-H, FFA, in addition to being in the JETS program.  He really enjoys being a Cuero Gobbler basketball player.  Cody works very hard at making sure he has good grades.  After graduation from Cuero High School, Cody plans to attend Texas A&M University.  Cody's willingness to help others and his positive attitude make him an excellent choice for Gobbler of the Week.  Congratulations again, Cody Bishop!

Cheer Tryouts



On January 29th, CHS will host an informational meeting for students interested in trying out for cheerleader or mascot. Interested parents and students must attend this important meeting. It will be held in the CHS library beginning at 6:30 pm.  This is for any eligible current 9th through 11th grader at Cuero High School, as well as any eligible 8th grader at Cuero Junior High, Meyersville, and Westhoff schools.  For questions or more information, please contact Deborah Pedraza at or 361-275-1900.

Cuero Junior-Senior Prom 2015

Prom tickets are now on sale for Juniors, $35 per ticket. Please see Mr. Greg Nemec, Mrs. Schaefer Taylor, or Ms. Paige Baros to purchase a ticket. Ticket prices will increase in February and March.

Athlete of The Week

Congratulations to Mariah Ann Rodriguez for being the sole Lady Gobbler student to earn the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) 2014-2015 Volleyball Academic All-State Award 1st Team! As a senior athlete, Mariah, was nominated on behalf of CHS for being of good moral character, in good standing with the team, and having an overall GPA of 98.27. She has been accepted to Texas A&M University's Dwight College of Engineering. Mariah exemplifies the Lady Gobbler Spirit!

Congratulations to the Lady Gobblers who were recently awarded Region 4 District 26 All-District Honors for girls volleyball!  These ladies exemplify the true Gobbler Spirit!
